The Tribute Quartet is an exciting addition to the Southern Gospel world. Gary Casto and Josh Singletary, formerly of the Wilburns, have put together a fine group of singers and a very nice project.

Producer Glen Bates has written a whole bunch of good songs for this project and the guys sing them well. “Good News” is a very good quartet song and kicks the project off with a bang. “Be Still” is a pretty mid tempo song featuring Gary Casto and tenor, Jacob Kitson.

“Beulah” has a bluegrass feel to it and features Josh Singletary on the lead vocal. “The Cross Jesus Carried” features Gary and Jacob once again and is a nice mid tempo ballad.
The guys do a very nice job on this song. “There is an Eye” is a pretty, laid back, song, with a bit of a jazz feel. There is some nice saxophone work on this ballad. This song has a Michael Feinstein feel to it.

“When those Gates Open Wide” is a more progressive Country Gospel song that radio should like. Gary Casto sings the very nice ballad, “In Remembrance of the Cross”. “Over on the Other Side” is a traditional quartet song that features bass singer, Dennis Dugger.

Jacob Kitson is featured on “Mercy Walks a Road”. Jacob has a pure tenor voice and should be a favorite among Southern Gospel lovers. “Wait on the Water to Part” has a Cajun beat to it and lets Josh Singletary show off his vocals. This is a fun song that should do well for them. Barbara Huffman and Gary Casto have become quite a songwriting team and they have put together the last song on the project, “This I Know”.
This song is a traditional quartet song with some nice ensemble work and features Dennis Dugger on the second verse.

Tribute Quartet has a very good quartet sound. You can hear the influence of Arthur Rice in the arrangements. This is a very good first project and has laid a solid foundation for these guys to build upon.
