A name synonymous with Country Gospel is the name Hinson; Country and Hinson go hand in hand. It doesn't matter what song they come out with, it's going to be as country as fried cornbread; why you can even smell the grease. I can't help but think that if Kenny Hinson were still alive, he'd be awfully proud of this latest release from the group. Bo and the gang completely embody the style that is unmistakably Hinson and this is absolutely best recording they have released in years. I will admit though, at the first, it took awhile for me to warm up to this recording, but once I lived with it awhile, I found it to be a delightful gem.
Almost as if it's a proclamation to the entire world, Bo starts the recording out with the heartfelt, "I'M STILL HERE" before he kicks it into high gear with the song, "LONELYVILLE", which takes it's theme from the story about the prodigal son.
"DEATH IN THE FAMILY TONIGHT" definitely has that trademark Hinson sound and will no doubt be a favorite among many, as will the Progressive Country feel of the worshipful, "HOLY AWE". Things get kicked back into high gear with the energetic, Pentecostal flare of "THIS IS WHAT REVIVAL IS ALL ABOUT".
While I get the general idea behind the song, "ONE EMPTY CHAIR", I don't think the song is exactly scriptural.I don't share the idea that there will be empty chairs in Heaven that should have been occupied by people who didn't accept Christ. But like I said, I see the idea the song, and I'm sure a lot of people will find this song a personal favorite.
"MODIFIED ME" allow us to hear Shawn McDougal, an extraordinary talent in his own right. Hidden in the shadow of the Hinson legacy, it's great to hear him on the second verse, before Bo takes the lead again on "THE POTTER'S WHEEL", a tremendous song of grace and submission. "GOD WILL MAKE A WAY" keeps things in slow mode and is the only feature for Kym Hinson-Calvery before Bo takes us back into high gear with "SOUL WINNER".
Shawn gets a feature all his own with the ballad, "HE'S MY STRENGTH" before Bo closes things out with the hard driving, "UNSTOPPABLE BLOOD."
After several years of relative obscurity, and evolving into more of a "Hinson Revival" group, reviving and recording previously recorded Hinson tunes, it's great to finally hear the past meeting the future and the group coming out with such a top notch recording. The tracks are smokin' and the vocals are done in true Hinson style. Each song bares the Hinson name as writer, whether it'd be Bo or his dad, Ronnie, and showcase some excellent lyrical offerings. While not everyone will like this recording because it's country through and through, true Hinson fans will definitely be able sink their teeth into it and devour each and every note from beginning to end.

I think we need to be careful when we review a song and say it's "not exactly scriptural." That's a strong charge and a shot to the heart for most songwriters. The question is, is it "anti-scriptural"?
I listened to a clip of the song and it talks about all the people that won't be at the marriage supper table and encourages people not to cause there to be an empty chair at the table. Will there be literal empty chairs in heaven? Probably not, but it's called symbolism! The bible is full of it.
Is it true when we take part in that great supper one day there will be dear friends and loved ones missing that we desperately would like to be there? I think so. -
I agree wholeheartedly with the reviewer. This is the best project that Bo and the gang have ever released. It's lyrically and musically sound, and I don't think any gospel fan could ask for more. Also you can hear Bo on an awesome song by The Freemans on their new CD, "Eyes on the Prize". Wow, does he ever do a good job on that song. Keep up the great work for God, guys!Southern Gospel Group - “One More Time” - http://www.myspace.com/onemoretimegospel

This is currently the most played album on my iPod. I got a chance to meet and see Bo live at a church in Heiskell, TN. After this album was released. I bought this album from thehinsons.org not long after the release. I had been watching for it for several years. Needless to say I am not disappointed.

Many years ago, the church I was a member of decided to invite the HINSONS to sing. Our young people took on many tasks to raise the monies needed to 'make it happen'. The night came and we were not disappointed. With way more than 300 in attendance (church only held 300)...the Hinsons sang their hearts out. There were children perched upon their parents shoulders, children sitting down the aisles, people in the foyer willing to not see, but happy to be able to hear in person this truly anointed group. Sadly, the police had to turn away over 200 because there just wasn't any room to stand. We were certainly breaking the Fire Code rules to be sure. I had my picture made with Kenny and I treasure that picture immensely. Nearly 16 years ago, my mother, daughter, granddaughter and I were returning home to SC having been to New York where I was born. We traveled there to have a 5 generation picture with my grandmother.
On the way back, we stopped in at Heritage USA. The Hinsons had begun their One More Hallelujah tour. I had the privilege to talking at length with Kenny during a break. He seemed to be in excellent health, but this was not the case. Very shortly thereafter, he
was diagnosed with cancer. Great sadness washed over me. I had to concentrate on the positive fact that he
would soon be with the One he loved above all others. I have stated to my
family on many occasions, "if I could only listen to one person sing for the rest of my life.....I would choose Kenny Hinson". There is only one other
that captures Kenny's style in it's entirety and that is BO. Keep on Keeping on Hinsons....God's not through with you yet!!!
