This month’s Lamp Spotlight artist comes forward to be The Georgians Quartet of Valdosta, GA.
In their 3 year history with Lamp Music Group this energetic male quartet has experienced an unprecedented growth. With historical links back to the full time SG quartet concert circuits of the early 60’s – the Georgians have in the unbelievably short time of only 3 ½ years since regrouping established their quartet as a major concert attraction throughout the southeastern US.
As the official quartet of Valdosta’s nationally recognized animal theme park, Wild Adventures, The Georgians have performed for virtually hundreds of thousands of park attendants in the last year. The Georgians even have their own concert pavilion which was exclusively designed for them by the theme park!
At home both on the concert stage and church platform, The Georgians are quickly becoming known for their dynamic stage presence with a variety of material ranging from 50’s era style quartet to modern quartet harmonies of today. Much of the material they are staging is original music composed by group manager, Calvin McGuyrt.
The group is a vital part of Lamp Music’s 2005 Radio Celebration Tour, and will appear at all the major Lamp promotional events this summer and NQC. They are also members of the concert group that sings for national promoters Bill Bailey, Norman Bonds, as well as respected ministers such as Johnny Minick, pastor of River of Life Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Dr. Freddie Smith, pastor of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church in Waycross, Georgia and many others.
Lamp is proud of the heritage that this group represents and is excited to spotlight them this month.
