The ALMIGHTY GOD is not a “half-mighty” God. He did not just go halfway at Creation. Birds do not just have one wing, lions do not hobble on three legs, the earth doesn’t wiggle on its axis and man did not get just one arm, one ear or one eye.
God did not just take the Israelites halfway to Canaan, part the waters at Red Sea only halfway across or change the bottom from muddy to damp. He did not just give manna three days a week or provide only enough water to satisfy half of the thirsty. God did not run out of pillars of cloud or fire halfway to the Promised Land. He was not the “half-mighty” God of the Jews.
God did not just heal half the people and animals that came out of Egypt or that looked to the Brazen Serpent. Jesus did not just halfway heal the lame man so he could go limping and praising into the temple praising God. He is the ALMIGHTY Son of the Almighty God who completely healed him so he could go leaping and praising.
Lazarus was not halfway restored to life and left blind or deaf. Jesus did not just provide a halfway redemption but went all the way in providing the “Double Cure” of Salvation and Healing (Ps 103:3; Is 53:5; 2 Peter 2:24) Jesus was not a “half-mighty” Master who could only get His disciples halfway to the other side during a storm, but He was and is the Almighty God who completely and totally stopped the storm.
Jesus is not your “half-mighty” Redeemer who can only save half your children, pay half your bills, feed half your family, protect half your home, heal half your body, be with you half the time or get you halfway to your destination. Jesus is not a “half- mighty” Chief Shepherd or Lord of the Church He is not a part-time God doing part-time work. He is the ALMIGHTY GOD doing “exceeding, abundantly above all that we can ask or think” (Eph. 3:20). Do not be satisfied with less than ALL from your Almighty GOD.
Notice these promises of God’s willingness to give ALL He has to His dear children. In II Peter 1:3 it states, “God has given us ALL things…” Paul wrote in I Corinthians 3:21, “ALL things are yours…” Again, the great Apostle Paul penned these words in Romans 8:32, “He hath freely given us ALL things…” Can we dare to believe these three powerful and insightful statements from God’s Holy Word? They are just a few from among many that are on record in the heavens as being the infallible (“without possibility of dispute”) Word of our Almighty God.
You may wish to read the following verses that clearly portray our great and mighty God as “The Almighty” God. The scriptural proof is clearly convincing as to His Sovereign ability. He stated that He was the “Almighty One” and then proved it over and over throughout the ages.
Gen. 17:1-2, “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.”
Gen. 28:3, “And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people;”
Ex. 6:3, “And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.”
Job 8:3, “Doth God pervert judgment? Or doth the Almighty pervert justice?”
Job 22:25-26, “Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defense, and thou shalt have plenty of silver. For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.”
Job 32:8, “But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.”
Job 34:12, “Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.”
Ps. 91:1, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
2 Cor. 6:18-7:1, “And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
Rev. 1:8, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Rev. 4:8, “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.”
Rev. 15:3, “And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.”
****A Personal Word to Our Readers from Dr. Frazier****
There are great insights to be derived from the study of the Greek New Testament. Each month I will endeavor to share a nugget of truth from the Book of Truth, God’s Eternal Word.
These will be concise and should not intrude into your time or opportunity to explore the richness of the vein from which they were extracted. That is for you and the Holy Spirit to excavate together. These nuggets are just to let you know where to begin the digging, if you so desire. They are NOT designed to be an exhaustive commentary providing all the answers on the subject. The Spirit will guide you in how deep to dig.
The Greek will be presented in a way that is easy to understand (transliterated) and easy to verify
(“SC” refers to Strong’s Concordance). With a little help, you can check the assayers report for yourself. So, pull out this shiny, new nugget and see where it leads you. Please feel free to share your questions, observations or insights with our readers and me.
