The Spring Hill Springboard @ 5:40 pm

In this age of Wall Street flux, coupled with multitudes of investment brokers vying to manage our "earthly" financial interests, who wouldn't feel overwhelmed and confused when trying to make the right choice? The good news is that God promises to take care of Christians' "spiritual interests." We enjoy the "maximum return" of eternal life in heaven because our investment was "paid in full" by the blood that Jesus shed at Calvary.

Though we know the Master is always in control, human nature sometimes surfaces, often in our moments of grief. Many, including myself, have suffered loss on a very deep level. Many more will be reminded this month of the continued loss families are still facing in the aftermath of our country's most horrendous attacks last September 11th. I believe God never closes a door without opening a window. The opened window, in this case, is feeling comforted through music.

One of the biggest blessings I have as radio promotions coordinator for Spring Hill Music Group is to spearhead the process of choosing and releasing radio singles to Gospel stations nationwide. This becomes challenging at times, however, sometimes songs just "pop." Here are two examples:

Janet Paschal's new release, "It Won't Rain Always," reminds us that the "clouds" of difficult circumstances life hands us will not last forever. "It Won't Rain Always" feels like a sweet breeze after a summer shower. This melodic lyric is brimming with the promise that "the hurt won't hurt forever?" and, "the sun's gonna shine, in His own good time, and He will see you through." I have had so many folks call me with their own testimonies of how this song has ministered to them in their lives. You can find this song on Janet Paschal's latest Spring Hill project, This Is Janet.

The latest single from Karen Peck & New River, "Now That You Know", is another winner when it comes to providing hope to hurting souls in their time of loss or grief. Two of my best friends lost a parent this year; one unexpectedly, the other after an agonizing bout with cancer. I too have experienced the loss of a parent It's really hard. "Now That You Know" is a beautiful gift in song. It actually was a gift from me to my friend at her mom's funeral. If you have ever wondered about your loved one after their passing, let "Now That You Know" fill you with a beautiful visual of comfort. You can pick up your own copy of this song on Karen Peck & New River's Triumph project, available at any Christian retailer.

I hope you are marking your calendars for this year's National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Ky! Please stop by the Spring Hill booth (436,535) and say hello. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends and catching up with old ones! In the meantime, take a look at your personal spiritual portfolio. Is the "heavenly broker" in charge of your eternal interests? If not, let me recommend mine? He's in "The Book"!

Until next month ~ 'Praise-alluia'!
