I have recently started a new chapter in my life - I'm a Mom again. I have a new beautiful baby daughter. It's been an adjustment in The Thompson household but I can honestly say that's it's been worth every moment. I don't have any siblings so watching the interaction between my son and daughter has been wonderful. Just watching the bond between them grow each day is amazing.
On one of my many trips from my Mother-in-law's home picking up and dropping off my children recently left me speechless. We were listening to our local Southern Gospel radio station and I asked Patrik a question regarding the music. I asked him if he knew what kind of music we were listening to. Now keep in mind that I'm just quoting a 6 year old. He said, duh Mom, it's Gospel Music and it carries the Gospel. I, for once in my life, was without words. That's hard to make a radio promoter speechless. He even asked me to turn the volume up so the music would help calm Kady down. Hearing this through my child made me think that sometimes I try to make my Christian walk too hard and complicated. We should trust Jesus in a child-like faith and it took my son to remind me of that again.
What a wonderful summer we are having at Daywind. Since I have returned from maternity leave two awesome albums have been released. "The Walk" from The Crabb Family and "Quartets" from Greater Vision. The response on the radio singles has been overwhelming. "Refuse To Be Afraid" from LordSong was released in June. The first single "While I Wait" should be playing on radio right now.
Another must have for this summer is "This Is The Day" from The Perrys. Not only is this an album with awesome songs BUT Libbi and the guys share their personal recipes in the insert. Let me tell you I have had Libbi's special baked ham before and there are no words to describe it. Libbi is a fantastic cook.
We also have the new project from Connie Smith, Sharon White & Barbara Fairchild coming out in August. We were able to meet with these ladies earlier this week to discuss the project. These are three of the most spirit fill women for The Lord I have ever been around. They are truly excited about how The Lord is going to use this project in their lives and the lives of others. Many radio stations have already added their new single "Fight On."
I appreciate Deon and Susan giving me the opportunity to write each month to keep you updated on what's going on here in Daywindland.
Have A Wonderful Holiday Weekend,
Rhonda Thompson
