In May I had the opportunity to be reminded of the roots that brought many of us to where we are today in our love of Gospel Music. I saw three of the Legends who walked the steps to make the way for the people in SGM today
Being born in Wilmington, Delaware doesn’t seem a likely start for an up and coming SGM artist but Bryan’s family only lived there a short time. Then they moved to the mountains of North Carolina, not that far from where the Dixie Melody Boys are based
I looked around at our society today and I truly believe we need some heroes, some people who are willing to step up and say “I am willing to take personal responsibility and let my life shine as an example”.
I just returned from the Jubilee At Sea Cruise – and it was an awesome time! A few weeks before going, in an effort to see if folks from some of the talk lists and forums were going, my question started a huge debate over whether folks going on a Christian cruise were being ripped off
In recent weeks I’ve had several occasions to see and hear the Kingsmen, during that time I took the opportunity to talk with three of the younger members of the group, Nick Succi, Grant Barker and Jeremy Peace.
I’ve noticed in recent years that there are things that can quickly escalate into disharmony when they begin to be discussed; hair/appearance/dress. If you want to draw a line in the sand quickly start a discussion on this with a group of SGM artists and/or fans
As I grow older I often become somewhat nostalgic. This time of year that is especially so. It’s not just the Thanksgiving and Christmas season and all the wonderful memories they bring
This time of year we hear a lot about being thankful, Thanksgiving, that national holiday where we eat too much and enjoy football. But do we really know how to be thankful?
The conversations during NQC, they run from the serious to the unbelievable! I heard artists giving encouragement to fans and other artists. I heard the complaints and the praises. Isn’t it amazing what people will say in a crowded place and actually think no one hears them?
Everything from group changes to new projects to NQC on the net has been featured on the various websites. And opinions there is no shortage of those, from the ridiculous to the cruel
I know I won’t get a lot of Amens or agreement on this but when are we going to realize that another genre of music isn’t the enemy – satan is!!!!! Now he can use CCM, SGM or any other genre where there are people willing to be used
I’m glad my daughter loves gospel music and she wants to hear the music. I often ask my self, ‘why do some young people love it and others don’t, even kids who are raised in church, who have Christian parents?’ I think I know part of the answer
