Brenda Denney of 2nd Generation said, “This is such an exciting chapter in our ministry. Recording our first album was a real blast, but this one was another overwhelming experience that we will remember forever! We can’t wait for everyone to hear the new album!”
I See a City was produced by award-winning songwriter Gerald Crabb for Premier Crabb Productions. The up-and-coming trio recorded vocals at the end of February in Hendersonville, Tennessee at Daywind Studio A.
The new recording features some of Nashville’s most prized studio musicians such as Jeremy Medkiff, Gary Prim, Dan Needham, Adam Crabb, and more. I See a City was engineered by Justin Kropf and was mixed by Trey Corley. The new album features a mix of new material and older songs that have played a major influence in the group.
2nd Generation’s Elaine Parks said, “These songs all have such a special message to us. We can’t wait to start singing them!”
I See a City is the follow-up to the group’s break-out album, Who Wants to Praise the Lord? That album spawned off the hit singles “Hanging On a Nail”, “When He Chose Me”, and the group’s first Top 80 hit “Trouble Me No More.”

The group’s debut single from the album, the title cut “I See a City”, will be released through Daywind Records’ compilation service this summer.

Mike LeFevre Quartet Signs Booking Agreement With The Harper Agency

Ed Harper commented, “Our family has known Mike for years and we know that he, along with David, Stacy and Gus are truly committed to the Lord’s calling. We are looking forward to being a part of their efforts to broaden their ministry. I have heard several of the songs on their upcoming new release on the Canaan label and the sound, along with the message of their songs, will be something they can be proud of for years to come.”
The Harper Agency is considered by industry leaders as one of the leading booking agencies in its field. The agency has led the way in exposing Gospel music to some of the largest churches in America and has been very successful in scheduling their artists at major concert halls, festival events, churches and state fairs across the country. They have been very instrumental in garnering network television exposure, as well as the development of Christian music events at major theme parks.
Mike LeFevre added, “I have known the Harper family for years and am thrilled to be working with them once again. Ed, Jeff and Dana have an amazing reputation and the quartet is honored they will be representing us. All of us are excited about our future together!”
Mike LeFevre Quartet’s latest Canaan project, "Nothin' But Good," will include the classic Mike LeFevre Quartet sound with songs by notable songwriters such as Sue Smith and Joel Lindsey, as well as Word Music Publishing writers Kenna Turner West and Lee Black. The album will also feature several songs by group members, David Staton and Gus Gaches, who were also recently signed to Word Publishing. In an album where nothing but high-caliber songwriting and superior vocals abound, this project is already creating a buzz among industry professionals. Canaan Records and Word Entertainment will release Mike LeFevre Quartet’s debut album worldwide. The first single from the project, "Big Mighty God," will ship to radio the end of May.
Mike LeFevre, nephew to the first lady of Gospel music herself, Eva Mae, began singing professionally with The Alphus LeFevre singers. In the early eighties Mike sang briefly with the Singing Americans, and from 1985 to 1992 he was the smooth baritone voice for the very successful Gold City. Mike took some much needed time off, but now he is back with what he believes is Gospel music history in the making. Mike has prayerfully and carefully picked the members that make up the new quartet. They have great new music and a great new sound that will win them fans of all ages. The quartet's members, both individually and collectively, share one common goal and purpose - to exalt and glorify the name of Jesus.

Steven Curtis Chapman’s Daughter Kiiled In Accident
According to the Tennessean, one of contemporary Christian music star Steven Curtis Chapman's six children was killed this afternoon when she was struck by a car said to be driven by her teenage brother in the driveway of the family's Williamson County home. The child, Maria, age 5, was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Hospital, which confirmed the death, according to Laura McPherson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
She was hit by an SUV driven by her teenage brother, she said. Police did not give the driver's name.
The teen was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser down the driveway of the rural home at about 5:30 p.m. and several children were playing in the area, McPherson said. He did not see the 5-year-old in the driveway before the vehicle struck her, she said.
"It appears to be a terrible accident,'' McPherson said.
No charges are expected, she said. The accident was witnessed by two other children; the entire family was home at the time, McPherson said.
Veteran singer/songwriter Chapman and his wife Mary Beth have long been supporters of international adoption, having brought three girls from China into their family. Maria is one of their adopted daughters.
The couple is so active they formed an organization, Shaohannah's Hope, to aid families wanting to adopt.
Chapman was in the news in April when he was inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame.
Please remember the Chapman Family in your prayers.

Naomi Sego Solo, Loses Two Members
In a newsletter sent to the fans of Naomi and the Segos sent this morning, Kasey Kemp announces his departure and the departure of Judson Horner. Kemp cited finances as the reason for their departure."For several months now things have grown increasingly harder for our group. With the cost of ever-rising fuel, several bus break-downs, bus and insurance payments, hotels, eats, and other travel expenses, it is nearly impossible for a full-time gospel group to survive! This doesn't even include the three people that are trying to earn their full-time living from this. With Church love offerings averaging around $200-$300, there just isn't enough to go around. Having watched the financial situation take its toll on Naomi for several months, Judson and I were forced with a decision. Go down with the ship, or relieve the weight from the Captain?" stated Kemp.
Kemp goes on to state, "Five weeks ago, we gave our notice to Ms. Naomi. Our desire was, and is, to see our departure take some of the financial stress off of her in hopes she can continue to sing for many year to come. This was NOT something Judson or I wanted to do. As a matter of fact, the original plan was to complete this year, then Naomi would retire the group and move into a select-date solo ministry. However, with the financial and transportation situation causing us major stress, we had no choice but to find a steady job. No on can live wondering if the money will be there each week to fund your paycheck, or if there will be enough money to operate your business each day. These are the facts of life."
Kemp and Horner are currently at work with their CD/DVD duplication business, The JK Company. Naomi Sego is currently being booked by The Free Spirit Agency.

Editor's Note:
The news of Kemp and Horner's departure from Naomi and The Segos had already been released through other news agencies. The entire letter from Kemp was not posted as much of it could have been seen as rumor, gossip and innuendo. The only thing reported from the letter was the news as it related to Kemp and Horner's departure and their reason to leave the group.
We believe that as a Christian organization we have a responsibility to report the news as accurately and with as much facts as we are able to gather. We do not pass on rumor, or news items for the purpose of gossip.
We pray God's blessings on all members of this group as they pursue other areas.

Yielded Makes Changes

Rich has a background in several areas of music and likes them all. However, he states: "I do love the blends in good southern gospel. No other music sounds the same when it comes to harmony." In addition to singing, Rich plays piano, harmonica, drums, and guitar. When asked about singing with Yielded, he tells how he's felt God tugging on his heart to get more involved in a ministry and use the gifts God has given him. Rich states, "I felt God saying that is where I want you to be, so here I am, singing for God."
The addition of Rich gives Yielded a completely new sound. With the mix of Yielded's other members, Rocky Smith, baritone, and Karen Ghormley, alto, this is the first time Yielded has had two male voices in the trio. John Ghormley, Yielded's manager states: "Bringing Rich on has caused us to make a major change in arrangements but the resulting sound is a much tighter blend and opens the path to musical selections not suitable for us in the past."
In addition to the new blend of voices, Yielded plans to add more live music to their presentation. Rocky is proficient in 14 instruments. Adding the instrumental talents of Rich and Karen enables the group to incorporate more live accompaniment.

Brad Moreland Unveils New Website

“I'm really excited about the new look of the site. It has a very modern look with several new features including a media page where you can listen to clips from my new CD, This Is The Walk, as well as view several performances on video, including some clips of my earlier years in southern gospel," says Brad. The site also features an in-depth look at Brad's ministry including a bio, a photo album featuring concert photos as well as pictures of Brad with other southern gospel artists, and much more.
Brad's brand new recording – This is the Walk has just recently been released and features special background vocals from Nicole Watts Jenkins (The Perrys). Nicole also lends her voice to a moving duet of the Twila LaBar penned tune "I'll Take Jesus." Dedra Henry of The Shadrix Trio and Trent Adams of Hope's Journey lent their annointed talents with background vocals while Brad was joined by one of his favorite artists, Kanah Dunaway Lovern of The Dunaways, on a powerful duet "In All Of His Glory." The project is full of songs by some of the top writers in southern gospel including Chris Binion, Marty Funderburk, Twila LaBar, Kyla Rowland, plus a brand new song by Dianne Wilkinson.
Brad recently released his second single from the project. It's a remake of an old Mahalia Jackson song called "Walk in Jerusalem."
I first heard the song about 20 years ago on a Mahalia Jackson Greatest HIts album and always thought it would make a great southern gospel song. I think we added just the right touch of southern gospel to it without losing the gospel edge that Mahalia had in the original version of the song. It's a toe tapper that people are really taking notice to."
The new single was released on the new 423 Promotions compilation, cut # 3.
For more information about Brad and his ministry, visit the newly designed website at http://www.bradmoreland.com . There you will find booking information, concert schedule and contact information.

Canaan Records Sign Mike & Kelly Bowling

“My first exposure to Mike and Kelly came by watching them from the balcony as they led a packed auditorium into the presence of the Lord. I became a fan that night and my admiration has only increased the more I have gotten to know them. We are thrilled to welcome them to our Canaan family,” commented Dave Clark, General Manager of Canaan Records.
Mike Bowling added, “When I was a child, all I wanted to do was sing and play Gospel music. Canaan Records was the leading record company and there was nothing I wanted more than to be an artist on their label with all the other greats. I was a member of the Canaan Record Club and I couldn’t wait each month to receive the featured project. Today, a dream came true when Kelly and I signed a recording contract with Canaan. The entire group is extremely excited about the opportunities ahead and being apart of the Canaan family. I can’t explain the joy of working with Dave and everyone at Canaan. Joining together makes the future of Mike & Kelly Bowling even more promising.”
Although formed a little over a year ago, Mike & Kelly Bowling are no strangers to the Christian music world having a long list of accomplishments during their vocal careers. While Mike began singing and playing piano at a very young age, he had a very impressive beginning to his professional career at only 16 years old when he embarked on a two year span singing with the legendary LeFevres. Mike then went on to earn a degree in Respiratory Therapy before returning to the music world. In 1995, he joined the New Hinsons, a perfect blend considering Mike’s vocals are very distinctively similar to those of the late Kenny Hinson. After lending his vocal abilities to several of their high-charting songs, Mike went on to join another successful family group, the Perrys. While with the Perrys, Mike was featured on songs such as "God Sent Angels," “By Faith I Can Touch Him Now" and “Not Even A Stone."
After Mike’s marriage to Kelly, he spent the next six years traveling as a soloist garnering a tremendous amount of success. In fact, he has been noted as the first Southern Gospel soloist to achieve three consecutive number one songs on the Singing News Top 80 charts (“Thank God For The Preacher,” “The Call” and “I Take Him Back”). Kelly spent more than 15 years with her family, The Crabb Family. During that time they were the recipients of three GRAMMY nominations, 11 Dove Awards, 16 number one songs and numerous other accomplishments. Kelly’s unmistakable voice can be heard on the family's hits "Don't You Wanna Go," "Good Day," "Jesus Will Do What You Can't" and "Trail Of Tears." After the birth of the Bowling's third child, Kelly realized it was time to join her husband on stage as Mike & Kelly Bowling. In October 2006, Mike & Kelly added Jeff Snyder of Owensboro, KY. Jeff brings an incredible tenor voice to this exciting trio. He is a graduate of Kentucky BibleCollege with a degree in Theology and Music.
Together, Mike and Kelly have created a sound that is as refreshing as the trio sounds of the early 70s. History will note that they have been true to the excellence of their ability without diminishing or distancing the listener. They have appeared on the Gaither Homecoming series concerts and videos, TBN, during Gospel Music Week, at GMA’s Seminar in the Rockies, presented during Gospel Music’s Dove Awards and performed at numerous other major events.
Canaan Records, a division of Word Entertainment, a Warner/Curb company, was founded in 1965.
