Project Set To Release This Spring

Nashville, TN (February 28, 2008) – Dora Pop is scheduled to release her debut-recording project, Who Am I, this spring. Produced by Jason Wall, Who Am I features 10 songs penned by some of Southern Gospel's favorite songwriters, including Joel Lindsay, Marty Funderburk and rising songwriters Joseph Habedank and Matthew Holt. Who Am I also features a bonus track of the title song, penned by Rick Goodman, in Pop's native language of Romanian.

Gospel music's favorite mixed quartet, the Perrys, join renowned pianist, Gordon Mote, as just a few of the many talented musicians supporting Pop on Who Am I. "I was so impressed by her heart for ministry, and her ability to draw the listener in as she sings," exclaimed Mote. "She has an engaging personality, and I know people will love her and her new project." The Perrys join Pop on "The Rock," a song penned by Joseph Habedank and Matthew Holt. Libbi Perry Stuffle states, "Dora Pop is a name that is sure to be a household name before too long. Dora is not just another singer, she is a singer that first of all knows WHO she is singing about and secondly, knows WHAT she is singing about. She feels the song and in return you feel what she is singing, her love for Jesus Christ with every word that comes out of her mouth." The project also features many of Nashville's most acclaimed musicians Gospel music fans adore listening to --Brent Mason, Paul Franklin, Duncan Mullins, Bryan Sutton, Aubrey Haynie and Shannon Forrest making this a powerfully unique collaboration. Libbi Perry Stuffle says, "This is a must have album!"

Pop, began the recording process in late-October, 2007. "I grew up listening to and singing Southern Gospel music and always felt God calling me to this ministry. I've always dreamed of recording a project with such powerful songs from Southern Gospel's most phenomenal songwriters and such incredibly talented musicians, but I didn't think it would happen on my first project," stated Pop. "This project is testimony that whatever your dream is, God's dreams for you are bigger than yours."

Dora Pop was born in Oradea, Romania, and came to the United States at the age of two with her mother and sister. Her father had fled the country when Dora was six months old to come to America and provide a better life, full of religious freedoms, for his family. "My father is the greatest musical influence in my life," stated Dora. "Southern Gospel was practically the only music we were allowed to listen to growing up. Since my dad was raised in a communist era, he especially cherished the freedom of listening to Gospel music. He taught me the importance of having passion when singing about the Savior."

"Open The Sea," a ballad relating to God's ability to perform miracles, penned by Amy Henning, will be released to Southern Gospel radio in early-Spring. Pre-sales for Who Am I, begin March 15, 2008.

Canaan Records Announces Solo Recording Agreement With Kim Hopper

image
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (2-25-07) Nashville based Canaan Records is pleased to announce a solo recording agreement with popular soprano Kim Hopper. Kim is one of the country's most dynamic and awarded voices in Gospel Music. As a small child, Kim first began singing with her brothers as a part of the talented musical family, The Greenes. Kim sang with her family for ten years before marrying Dean Hopper in November 1988, and in the following year, she joined The Hoppers. During her years with The Hoppers, Kim has garnered the Singing News Favorite Soprano Award 11 times in a row and Favorite Female Vocalist an amazing four years.

Kim is currently in the studio working on her debut Canaan Records project, which is set to release this summer. “It's been several years since Kim released a solo project. As this project comes together, I can definitely see it was well worth the wait. Musically, Kim lives up to every award she has received, but of much greater importance, she lives out every song she sings. We're proud to have her as part of our Canaan family,” commented Dave Clark, General Manager of Canaan Records.

Kim will continue to travel and record with her family, The Hoppers, who are also Canaan artists. Kim and Dean have two beautiful girls, Karlye Jade, born in October of 1994 and Lexus Jazz, born January 2005. They make their home in Summerfield, NC.

Recently, The Hoppers celebrated their number one song, “I'm Just Waiting For My Ride,” at a party hosted by Canaan Records in Nashville, Tenn. America's Favorite Family of Gospel Music claimed the number one spot on Singing News Magazine's National Radio Chart during the month of March for the hit written by Ronny Hinson, who also made a guest soloist appearance on the single.

Last week, The Gospel Music Association announced their nominees for the 39th Annual DOVE Awards. The Hoppers picked up three nominations for Southern Gospel Album of the Year (The Ride), Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year (“I'm Just Waiting For My Ride”) and Choral Collection (Let The Redeemed Say So).

The number one hit featuring Kim and the rest of The Hoppers, “I’m Just Waiting For My Ride” can be found on the group's debut Canaan Records project, The Ride, as well as their brand new Celebration 50 DVD, which is set to release April 1, 2008 through Canaan Records and Word Entertainment. The soundtrack is available on Word Entertainment's Studio Series at retailers nationwide and digitally through http://www.itunes.com.

A concept video highlighting “I’m Just Waiting For My Ride” is currently available for download at http://www.thehoppers.com. The video includes the award-winning Hoppers along with songwriter Ronny Hinson performing the number one song. The “I’m Just Waiting For My Ride” concept video can be downloaded to your I-Pod or I-Tunes library and is free of charge.

In addition to the enormous success of their last single, The Hoppers brand new single, “Yahweh,” is currently playing on radio stations worldwide and is already becoming a favorite among fans.

The Hoppers and Canaan Records are pleased to offer an additional DVD release on April 1st entitled The Ride Live. In addition to enjoying two rich and anointed concert events, viewers will also enjoy visually exciting high-definition experiences filmed live at the Reynolds Auditorium in Winston-Salem, NC. You can view a unique video sample at http://www.thehoppers.com.

Claude, Connie, Dean, Kim and Mike were recently awarded the prestigious Order of the Long Leaf Pine by North Carolina Governor Mike Easley. The Hoppers are proud to commemorate their 50 year anniversary through a series of Hopper's Heritage Concerts that include performances by The Original Hopper Brothers and Connie. The group began their quest in music as a sharecropping family of eleven children where five of the seven brothers began singing at local churches under the direction of their mother. In 1957, as young adults, four of the brothers began the Hopper Brothers Quartet. In 1960, Connie Shelton joined their ranks as the piano player and later married Claude, the manager of the group. Connie's popularity eventually caused the group to change its name to The Hopper Brothers and Connie. In 1964, the group entered and won the talent contest at the National Quartet Convention in Nashville, TN. The Hoppers have evolved over the years and now is comprised of Claude and Connie, their two sons Mike and Dean and Deans wife, Kim. The group recently signed with Canaan Records, a division of Word Entertainment, a Warner/Curb company, where they nationally released their hit album, The Ride. This group has received nearly every award possible in their field of music including being presented with Favorite Mixed Group on numerous occasions. They average singing to over 1 million concert goers in over forty states and five countries per year.

Bill Monaghan’s Loving God Album Continues On A Strong Path

HENDERSONVILLE, TN, February 2008: After an unbelievable launch of the video “It’s Going By The Book” the single is now being heard on radio nationwide. The late 2007 single release began to pick up airplay after the video has received some 40,000 views in the past 120 days on Godtube.com . Bill Monaghan’s latest Three Hills Recording “Loving God” has surpassed the labels expectations.

Dale Duhl co-owner of Three Hills Music states, “Bill’s powerful voice, coupled with an enormous amount of talent has helped his ministry to broaden with audiences throughout the years. By breaking from the traditional ways of recording and releasing singles we (Three Hills Music) have been able to give the fans what they want, and at the same time assist the artists in breaking from the same old ways of marketing their music.”

Jimmy Tarbutton, Three Hills Music co-owner says, “It’s amazing that in today's Southern Gospel Music circles, radio only seems to focus on an outdated printed piece of paper to determine a play list. That is why we chose to release “It’s Going By The Book” on video first. And by looking at the 40,000 fans who have watched it tells us that when you take the music to the masses they take notice. Too bad radio program directors are not as open minded.”

Although, video production has been one key philosophy within Three Hills Music Group since they opened their doors in 1999, they have always targeted the broader audience and have witnessed remarkable achievements through the power of video.

Its easy to say to date this is perhaps the best collection of material from Bill ever! Loving God…Loving Each Other!!!

“It is such an honor to be included with these great artists,” said Earle Wheeler, quartet leader. “While awards and nominations help to cheer our spirits and encourage us, the focus and purpose of what we do each week is to share God’s message in song and word wherever He allows us to go. I am deeply touched that the members of the GMA have nominated our efforts along side musical heroes such as Ricky Skaggs and The Whites, Little Roy Lewis, Earl Scruggs and all these other talented performers,” he said. “No matter the final outcome it means so much to have our group stand side by side with these monumental talents. Gold City & Jamey Ragle Embark Upon Preach The Word Tour

image
Gadsden, AL - “Preach the Word, preach the Cross, preach redemption to a lost and dying world. Lift your voice unashamed of the Gospel of His name. Until all have heard, preach the Word.” Those lyrics, penned so eloquently by Jim Davis, recorded by popular quartet Gold City, serve as the premise for an evangelistic event that is changing lives nationwide.

The Preach the Word Tour, featuring Gold City and noted evangelist Jamey Ragle, is bringing to life the lyrics of the song featured on Gold City’s latest recording, Revival. Judging by the results of the inaugural Preach The Word event, “revival” is exactly what is occurring through the Preach The Word Tour. “It’s hard to define how awesome this event truly was,” stated long-time Gold City member, Daniel Riley, following the first official Preach The Word Tour engagement at Central Baptist Church in Dunn, NC, during which more than 70 individuals came forward to make important salvation decisions. “The fire of God still burns in our church,” stated Central Baptist Church Senior Pastor Tom Wagoner, several weeks after the conclusion of the Preach The Word event. “We had the privilege of hosting Jamey Ragle and Gold City for three days, and it was remarkable. I would highly recommend these genuine servants of the Lord Jesus to any church that desires real revival.”

The Preach The Word Tour came to life in January of 2007 during a bible study cruise featuring Gold City and Ragle. “During the week of the cruise,” Riley explains, “we spent quite a bit of time together, sharing the goals we have for our ministries. God began to work, and before we disembarked the ship on the final day, the Preach The Word Tour was born.”

According to Ragle, the event combines a night of encouraging music with a serious presentation of the Gospel. “I’ve been described as seriously funny in my presentation of the Gospel message. I share my humor without compromising the Gospel, and Gold City presents the Gospel message with musical excellence. The Preach The Word Tour embraces those two attributes.”

Ragle, who has close ties to the Southern Gospel Music genre, having traveled with The Dixie Melody Boys during the 1970s, has become recognized as one of the nation’s most noted evangelists, ministering through local church revival meetings, Reach the Planet crusades, corporate meetings, school assemblies and youth camps. Ragle uses scriptural and personal illustrations with humor to communicate powerful Biblical principles.

Gold City is one of the most celebrated and awarded quartets in Southern Gospel Music. Over the past two and a half decades, they have enjoyed countless honors and accolades, as well as numerous national hit songs.

Pastors interested in scheduling the Preach The Word Tour featuring Gold City and Jamey Ragle may contact the BSA Agency at 615-595-7500. To obtain additional information regarding the Preach The Word Tour, visit http://www.jameyragle.org or http://www.goldcityqt.com

The Fourth Man Quartet Wins!

The Fourth Man Quartet of Orlando, Florida won ‘First Place’ at the SOUTH GEORGIA GOSPEL SING-OUT & TALENT SEARCH in Fitzgerald, Georgia an event hosted by Bill Bailey Concerts on January 20, 2008!

This event consisted of two concerts; One on Friday night January 19th with The Perrys, Brian Free & Assurance, Mike & Kelly Bowling, and The Crabb Revival and the second on Saturday night January 20th with Michael Combs, Karen Peck & New River, The Freemans, and Crossway, plus the Talent Search Winners. The Fourth Man Quartet shared the stage with four greats of Southern Gospel Music.

The Fourth Man Quartet originally began less than two years ago as a small men’s ensemble at their local church, Calvary Assembly of Orlando. The four men of the quartet sensed God’s call into ministry outside the walls of their church, purchased equipment, and began singing in local jails, prisons, half-way houses, and small congregations in the area this past summer. The varied styles in their repertoire appeal to mixed audiences.

God uses The Fourth Man to reach out with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ! Even while at the contest, God put together circumstances that allowed the men to sing during a Sunday morning service at the Potter’s Touch Church which meets in the hotel they used over the weekend. Upon arrival for the service they were given word that the pastor’s wife had been taken to the hospital and he was unable to lead the service. The church was blessed with a free high quality concert where new converts were won and everyone was blessed. Praise the Lord!

The Fourth Man Quartet has their first CD project nearly completed and expect it to be released by the end of February 2008, They are currently available for bookings and can be contacted by phone at: (321) 283-4514 or email at: (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

America’s Favorite Family of Gospel Music claimed the number one spot on Singing News Magazine’s National Radio Chart during the month of March for the hit written by Ronny Hinson, who also made a guest soloist appearance on the single. Friends and colleagues gathered to commemorate this monumental occasion after the Gospel Music Association’s DOVE Award press conference, where The Hoppers picked up three nominations for Southern Gospel Album of the Year (The Ride), Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year (“I’m Just Waiting For My Ride”) and Choral Collection (Let The Redeemed Say So).

Chuck Peters, Radio Editor for SG Show Prep, commented, “The first time I heard ‘I’m Just Waiting For My Ride’.. I knew there would soon be a #1 party! This song will become one of those ‘Hopper Classics’ that fans will be requesting and radio will be playing for years and years!”

Rick Shelton, Director of Publishing for Daywind Music and Publisher of “I’m Just Waiting For My Ride,” continued, " ‘I’m Just Waiting For My Ride’ is a fantastic example of the authentic artistry of Ronny Hinson, Lari Goss and, of course, the Hoppers. Although each creator is legendary, their combined efforts have produced a fresh and innovative interpretation of a timeless theme – the believers’ reunion with their King. Well deserved congratulations are due each of them and Canaan Records for achieving the hit song status of #1."

"Congratulations to the Hoppers on their number one song," added Bill Gaither

“I’m Just Waiting For My Ride” can be found on the group's debut Canaan Records project, The Ride, as well as their brand new Celebration 50 DVD, which is set to release April 1, 2008 through Canaan Records and Word Entertainment. The soundtrack is available on Word Entertainment’s Studio Series at retailers nationwide and digitally through http://www.itunes.com.

“I’m Just Waiting For My Ride” also captured the number one position on the SoGospelNews.com radio chart for two weeks. It was also named #17 on the website’s Top 50 Chart for 2007. The Hoppers brand new single, “Yahweh,” has been shipped to radio stations worldwide and is already becoming a favorite among fans.

A concept video highlighting “I’m Just Waiting For My Ride” is currently available for download at http://www.thehoppers.com. The video includes the award-winning Hoppers along with songwriter Ronny Hinson performing the number one song. The “I’m Just Waiting For My Rides” concept video can be downloaded to your I-Pod or I-Tunes library and is free of charge.

The Hoppers have evolved over the years and now is comprised of Claude and Connie, their two sons Mike and Dean and Dean’s wife, Kim.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:

-- Artist of the Year Nominees are Casting Crowns, The Clark Sisters, Natalie Grant, Point Of Grace, Skillet, tobyMac and Chris Tomlin --
-- Doves Find TV Home Live! On Gospel Music Channel --

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – February 14, 2008 –Casting Crowns, The Clark Sisters, Natalie Grant, Point Of Grace, Skillet, tobyMac and Chris Tomlin are among the diverse and gifted artists nominated for gospel/Christian music’s highest honor – the Dove Award.

Those seven were announced as the nominees for Artist of the Year for the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards at a press conference today in Nashville, hosted by Dove and GRAMMY winner Michael W. Smith (who received three Dove nominations of his own) and Elle Duncan, host of Gospel Music Channel’s weekly “Kitchen Sink.” The GMA Dove Awards, gospel music’s biggest night of the year featuring artists from every style of gospel/Christian music coming together for a night of music and celebration, will be produced in high definition and broadcast live on the Gospel Music Channel from 8 – 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on Wednesday, April 23, 2008.

The top nominee for 2008 GMA Dove Awards is Mark Hall, lead vocalist and songwriter of Casting Crowns, with six nominations including Male Vocalist and Song of the Year. His band, whose Altar and the Door CD debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart when it released last August, added four nominations including Artist and Group of the Year nods. Reigning two-time Dove Award Artist of the Year and one of the world’s most prolific worship artists Chris Tomlin is also among the top nominees announced today. His five nominations include Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year. Also garnering nominations in those same categories and a total of five was rock/hip-hop artist tobyMac. Progressive worship band David Crowder*Band’s five nominations included Group of the Year.

Four nominations each went to black gospel’s legendary sister act The Clark Sisters, singer-songwriter Jeremy Camp; southern gospel favorites Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs, and the all ladies pop quartet Point Of Grace. Producers and songwriters also enjoyed nomination success this year with songwriter/producer/arranger Bernie Herms and versatile producer Wayne Haun each receiving five nods while the urban producing team of PAJAM was nominated four times.

“Gospel and Christian music artists share an expressed intent to honor God through music and the freedom to create their art without stylistic boundaries. This year’s Dove nominations are a testament to that,” said Gospel Music Association (GMA) President/CEO John W. Styll, who also noted that the GMA Board of Directors this year expanded the five artist categories - Artist, New Artist, Group, Male Vocalist and Female Vocalist of the Year- from five to seven nominees. “The GMA Board of Directors decided to increase the number of nominees in these categories because it has been a challenge in the past for the artist categories to fairly represent and celebrate the breadth and depth of our music’s diversity. We believe our goal was accomplished with this year’s nominations.”

Gospel Music Channel, the nation’s first and only 24/7 all-gospel/Christian music television network, becomes the exclusive television home for the GMA Dove Awards thanks to a multi-year agreement revealed today by Styll and Charles Humbard, founder and president, Gospel Music Channel (GMC).

The 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards will be handed out at Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry House. While the awards are the purpose of the show, music performances will definitely share center stage at the Dove Awards, showcasing some of gospel music’s hottest and most diverse artists. In addition to the live broadcast, GMC will present back-to-back encore broadcasts that night and additional re-airings following.

“Gospel Music Channel is the perfect partner for GMA and the Doves.  We share a similar approach to presenting gospel music to the world and the Dove Awards is GMA’s primary vehicle in that endeavor,” said Styll.  “With their ever-increasing distribution, we are excited to grow the profile of the Dove Awards as the channel grows.”

“Gospel/Christian music’s biggest night now has a dedicated home on gospel/Christian Music fans’ favorite television network,” commented Humbard. “Our relationship with the GMA dates back to the launch of Gospel Music Channel, including our licensing of the Doves library from which we produce our popular Best of The Doves series, and this is a natural next step. The Dove Awards live telecast will be a centerpiece of GMC’s schedule for years to come and we’ll build programming, marketing and PR events around it to elevate it even further.”

The Doves had been airing in national syndication and not had a live broadcast since 2002. Gospel Music Channel also announced that The American Bible Society ( http://www.bibles.com ) will be the presenting sponsor of the 2008 telecast, with an option to remain through the length of the agreement. They are also the designated charity for the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards.

Dove Awards will be handed out in 43 categories. The Songwriter of the Year nominees were not announced today, but will be revealed prior to the GMA Dove Awards. Dove Awards nominations go to recordings released during the eligibility year November 1, 2006 through October 31, 2007 and voted on by the members of the GMA. The complete nominations list is at http://www.doveawards.com .

Kiwanis Club of Ringgold encourages youth in traditional music

The Kiwanis Club of Ringgold gave the Share America Foundation, Inc. a grant $1,000 grant Feb. 12.

“We are so grateful that the members of this great organization have faith in what we are doing to encourage youth,” said Randall Franks, Share America president and actor/entertainer. “A child who has the gift of music can enjoy and share that blessing for a lifetime. It makes it even more meaningful when it is the traditional music of our region and our Appalachian culture that the young people are perpetuating.”

The Kiwanis grant funds came from a special fundraiser in which the Kiwanis built and sold a house.

“We are excited about the successful events that we are having at the Ringgold Depot,” said Chairman Joe Turner. “We hope that the community will continue to support us and allow us to build this program into something that touches youth not only in our community but those in so many others.”

The Share America Foundation, Inc., a Georgia non-profit, presents the Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship, named for the late parents of the former "In the Heat of the Night" co-star, to help talented musicians who excel in the Appalachian musical arts.

“We are so pleased to be able to give to causes which improve the lives and potential of young people,” said Linda Fowler, Kiwanis president. “This program is so unique in that there are so few organizations that give recognition to students excelling in the traditional music arts of our region.”

The grant was presented on the heels of the organization’s successful February show Sacred Sounds Fridays at the Ringgold Depot that featured appearances by Voices Won, Deborah Taylor, Garrett Arb and visual artist Sandra Babb.

“Thanks to the gracious artists, their donations of time and talent help to allow us to continue building the scholarship fund,” Franks said.
The next event is March 7 at 7:30 p.m. at The Ringgold Depot featuring The Greesons and an art exhibit by Bill Cordes.

Prayer Request For The Lesters UPDATE

The latest update on Seth indicates that he should be removed from ICU today. He has made great progress in the past 3 to 4 days. He has been off the blood pressure medicine for 24 hours and they are taking him to the step down ICU for a few days and then on to in-house rehab/therapy for a week, maybe less. Please keep praying that Seth's blood pressure will stay stable and that the rehab/therapy goes well for him. Dr. Chicoin is so impressed with his progress these past few days and is still believing for 100% recovery.

==============

Ginger Pitchers has updated us once again on Seth Revelle's condition. "The doctor did confirm from the CAT scan that Seth did suffer a light stroke from the puncture in the carotid artery, but he has made considerable progress in the past 24-48 hours. The movement and strength is slowly coming back to his right arm and his speech is improving a great deal. He is now on his second day of food and will more than likely get the packing in his nose removed sometime today. They are in the process of lowering the dosage of his blood pressure medicine to wean him off of it. We still have no time line as to how much longer Seth will be in ICU, but we believe he will be moving out very soon. We can not tell you enough how much your faithfulness in praying has meant to our entire family. God has truly brought us this far and we are trusting Him and Him alone thru the rest of Seth's recovery."

The family thanks everyone for their prayers and ask that prayers on Seth and Jenny's behalf continue.

==============

Ginger Pitchers sent the following update on Seth:

"I spoke with Jenny at 8:00 AM. She had a pretty restful night in the waiting room. Seth's night was ok, but Jenny said he experienced some sickness thru the night. As of yesterday afternoon, the neorosurgeon, Dr. Chicoin ( I may not have the right spelling) is pretty sure Seth has suffered a light stroke. They really need to wait for the swelling from the surgery to go down. He said some of his symptoms may get worse before they get better, but he is optomistic that they will get better. His stay in ICU is day to day. On an up note, on one of Jenny's visits back to Seth's room, he wanted to know when he could get food!! This is a good sign! ha

As so many of you know, the waiting is the hardest part. We all want this recovery to go so much faster! Please pray for Seth, Jenny, Clyde & Mavis (Seth's precious parents) and all the family."

================

Seth Revelle, husband of Jenny Pitchers, had surgery yesterday to remove a tumor.

"As the surgeon was finishing the procedure to remove the tumor, he knicked Seth's corrugated artery. This was a very serious situation. They were able to get the bleeding stopped and Seth received 2 units of blood. They took him for an angiogram to find out the damage. The doctors were able to insert a coil into the artery to take care of the situation, then they took Seth back into surgery to finish the first procedure. Seth came to ICU around 5:30 PM last night. He will be in ICU on a day to day basis. I spoke with Jenny this morning at 6:55 AM and he did ok thru the night. PLEASE DO NOT STOP PRAYING as Seth needs a healing touch concerning his motorskills in his right arm," stated Ginger Pitchers.

Around 11:30 am today The Lesters sent out the following notice, "About 10:00 central time we received a call from Jennie Revelle that her husband Seth had taken a turn for the worse. We need your prayers."

Please keep the family in your prayers as they deal with this situation.

The LeFevre Quartet Signs Exclusive Recording Contract with Canaan Records

image
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (2-11-07) Canaan Records announced today the signing of The LeFevre Quartet to an exclusive recording contract. Although fairly new to the Southern Gospel circuit, this exciting group of men is quickly becoming known for their traditional four-part harmony, exceptional live performances and soul-stirring songs.

“We are thrilled to have the LeFevre Quartet join our growing Canaan Family. I have known Mike, David, Gus and Stacy for years and the energy they bring to the song and to the stage is unparalleled. We are proud to partner with their ministry and look forward to some great days ahead,” stated Dave Clark, General Manager of Canaan Records.

“From the time we first talked there was a kindred spirit between Dave Clark and The LeFevre Quartet. God has an amazing way of putting things together in a special way at a perfect time. We feel very blessed to be the newest Canaan Records artist. Our prayer, as The LeFevre Quartet partner's in ministry with Dave, Emily and all of the Canaan family, is that God would use this team in a mighty way,” added Mike LeFevre.

The LeFevre Quartet is currently in the studio working on their debut Canaan Records project, which is set to release this summer. Les Butler, Director of Business Operations for Singing News, stopped by the studio during the recording and commented, “Their rehearsals are better than most main events!”

The LeFevres are one of the oldest, most awarded and respected family names in the world of Gospel music. After a career that spanned nearly six decades, the LeFevres retired in the mid 1970's, but a second generation LeFevre was just setting out to make his own mark in Southern Gospel music. Mike LeFevre, nephew to the first lady of Gospel music herself, Eva Mae, began singing professionally with The Alphus LeFevre singers. In the early eighties Mike sang briefly with the Singing Americans, and from 1985 to 1992 he was the smooth baritone voice for the very successful Gold City.

Mike took some much needed time off, but now he is back with what he believes is Gospel music history in the making. The LeFevres were always pioneers and innovators in Southern Gospel music and Mike continues to make his mark by forming the first group in several years to bear the legendary LeFevre name. Mike has prayerfully and carefully picked the members that make up the new quartet. If you were a fan of the LeFevres, Mike and the guys will take you back with fresh, new arrangements of some very well known LeFevre hits. When you see the group live, don't expect to only hear the old LeFevre songs from yesteryear. This quartet has great new music and a great new sound that will win them fans of all ages. The quartet's members, both individually and collectively, share one common goal and purpose - to exalt and glorify the name of Jesus.

Log onto http://www.canaanrecords.com and add your e-mail address to the Canaan mailing list. E-mails will periodically be sent to your inbox with updates on the brand new LeFevre Quartet project, as well as other exciting releases from the label.

For more information on The LeFevre Quartet, visit http://www.mikelefevrequartet.com . For more information on Canaan Records, visit http://www.canaanrecords.com .

Mike & Kelly Bowling Sign Booking Agreement With The Harper Agency

image
NASHVILLE, TN (2-8-08) – The Harper Agency is pleased to announce the addition of Mike & Kelly Bowling to their elite roster of artists. The popular trio signed the scheduling agreement on the heels of claiming their first number one song, “We Have A Saviour” and the completion of their debut project, Faith To Believe.

Jeff Harper commented, “The Harper Agency is honored to include Mike & Kelly Bowling to our line-up of artists. Mike & Kelly bring a young, fresh approach to Southern Gospel and appeal to a wide variety of fans. Together we hope to spread the message of Christ through song and change lives.” Dana Harper continued, “Mike & Kelly Bowling are ministry minded individuals who exemplify the best of our music. We couldn’t be happier to represent them.”

The Harper Agency is considered by industry leaders as one of the leading booking agencies in its field. The agency has led the way in exposing Gospel music to some of the largest churches in America and has been very successful in scheduling their artists at major concert halls, festival events, churches and state fairs across the country. They have been very instrumental in garnering network television exposure, as well as the development of Christian music events at major theme parks.

Mike Bowling added, “Kelly and I are truly excited about being represented by The Harper Agency. Ed, Jeff and Dana are people of integrity with an unprecedented reputation. We are thrilled to be part of their team and what the future holds for all of us!”

Although formed a little over a year ago, Mike & Kelly Bowling are no strangers to the Christian music world having a long list of accomplishments during their vocal careers. While Mike began singing and playing piano at a very young age, he had a very impressive musical beginning at only 16 years old; a two year span with the legendary LeFevres. Mike then went on to earn a degree in Respiratory Therapy before returning to the music world. In 1995, he joined the New Hinsons, a perfect blend considering Mike’s vocals are very distinctively similar to those of the late Kenny Hinson. After lending his vocal abilities to several of their high-charting songs, Mike went on to join another successful family group, the Perrys. While with the Perrys, Mike was featured on songs such as "God Sent Angels," “By Faith I Can Touch Him Now" and “Not Even A Stone."

After Mike’s marriage to Kelly, (Kelly sang with her family…the Crabb Family), Mike spent the next six years traveling as a soloist garnering a tremendous amount of success. In fact, he has been noted as the first Southern Gospel soloist to achieve three consecutive number one songs on the Singing News Top 80 charts (“Thank God For The Preacher,” “The Call” and “I Take Him Back”). Kelly spent more than 15 years with her family, The Crabb Family. During that time they were the recipients of three GRAMMY nominations, 11 Dove Awards, 16 number one songs and numerous other accomplishments. Kelly’s unmistakable voice could be heard on the family's hits "Don't You Wanna Go," "Good Day," "Jesus Will Do What You Can't," "Trail Of Tears," as well as singing harmonies on the others. After the birth of the Bowling's third child, Kelly realized it was time to join her husband on stage as Mike & Kelly Bowling.

In October 2006, Mike & Kelly Bowling added Jeff Snyder of Owensboro, KY. Jeff brings an incredible tenor voice to this exciting trio. He is a graduate of Kentucky Bible College with a degree in Theology and Music.

Together, they have created a sound that is as refreshing as the trio sounds of the early 70s. History will note that they have been true to the excellence of their ability without diminishing or distancing the listener. Mike & Kelly Bowling have appeared on the Gaither Homecoming series concerts and videos, TBN, during Gospel Music Week, at GMA’s Seminar in the Rockies and numerous other major events.

For booking information on Mike & Kelly Bowling, contact The Harper Agency (615-851-4500, http://www.harperagency.com or e-mail: (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) .) For more information on Mike & Kelly Bowling, visit http://www.mikeandkellybowling.com

Classic Southern Gospel Station Finds a New Home

OldTimeChristianRadio, an Internet radio station playing vintage Southern Gospel music and more, has relocated to a new network to better serve its listeners. The station began broadcasting solely through the services of LoudCity/Shoutcast in January. The result is ad-free streaming with no interruptions and little talk. The broadcasts are free to the listener.

Owner and program director Barry Flynt says, "The decision to make a change after almost 3 ½ years with the previous network was a tough one, but one I feel is a positive step."

OTCR signed on the air in June 2004 with the goal of playing conservative, vintage Southern Gospel and Sacred music. The station has changed formats just a bit since its inception, leaning more toward older Southern Gospel and adding Bluegrass Gospel from current artists to the playlists. Names such as Blackwood, Statesmen, Harvesters, Oak Ridge, Gethsemane, and many more dot the playlists daily. The station also plays Southern Gospel from some of today’s artists who have the traditional sound.

Flynt says that he is looking forward to the opportunities the new network will bring to OTCR. The station will continue to feature an Artist of the Month and update its website on a regular basis to keep listeners informed of news, views, and updates. Flynt also says that there are other changes being considered which will enhance the listening experience.

OldTimeChristianRadio can be accessed easily from their website at http://www.otcradio.com . A variety of players through which to listen are available.

Prayer Request For The Lesters UPDATE

==============

================

Hoppers Claim #1 On National Radio Charts

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (2-1-07) America’s Favorite Family of Gospel Music, The Hoppers, claimed the number one spot on Singing News Magazine’s National Radio Chart during the month of March for their hit song, “I’m Just Waiting For My Ride”.

Dean Hopper stated, “When Ronny brought ‘I’m Just Waiting For My Ride’ to the studio, we had a great time working with him and learning it. We knew it was a happy song and felt that people would like it, but little did we realize how the message in this fun little song would encourage individuals so much in a major crisis until we heard their testimonies. Thanks Ronny and Lari for the song! You will never know the number of lives you have touched. Thank you Canaan Records, radio and friends for all of your support during this exciting time for The Hoppers.”

The single was written by Ronny Hinson and features the writer as a guest soloist alongside the Hopper family harmony fans have loved for over 50 years.

“After all the songs I have written it still makes me grin, from ear to ear, when I hear a song done right. The Hoppers and Canaan Records took this one to the top. Congratulations on your number one. I was privileged to get to go along for the ride,” added Ronny Hinson.

Dave Clark, General Manager of Canaan Records, commented, “I am so excited for the Hoppers! This was an entire team effort and I couldn't be more proud of everyone involved. The Hoppers have evolved over the years and now is comprised of Claude and Connie, their two sons Mike and Dean and Dean’s wife, Kim.

Prayer Request For The Lesters
