Member of Mercy’s Well Involved In Roadside Robbery

The incident occurred not far from Kyle’s home. Apparently the robber had placed items in the road to cause a blown tire and/or an accident. Kyle ran over the items in the road, stopped to investigate the damage and was approached by an armed masked robber. The attacker threatened Kyle with force. He managed to flee on foot through the woods only to be pursued by the perpetrator. After running and hiding in the wooded area, he managed to escape. No significant cash loss was incurred, but the attacker did take his wallet and cell phone. He suffered cuts, bruises and damage to his knees and feet from running through the wooded area barefoot.
Kyle wishes to thank all who have called, sent e-mails, cards and letters.
“It’s been a comfort to Kyle during this traumatic experience,” stated Brad Strider, owner and manager of Mercy’s Well. “He realizes exactly how much he means to the people near him. Greg and I, along with Kyle’s family and friends, are so thankful he is OK. He appreciates all the prayers that have gone up on his behalf.”
Continue to pray for Kyle that the emotional distress caused by this incident will be minimal. His faith has already seen him through and will continue to sustain him during this time. Anyone wishing to send Kyle correspondence may do so at .

Crossroads Signs Distribution Agreement with Haun and Ward Entertainment

Haun and Ward have been working together for the past ten years on various recordings. Ward has produced and/or mixed projects for many major artists in the industry while working as an independent through his kiloWatt Studios. Haun, a 5-time Dove Award winner, has been nominated an unprecedented 45 times, firmly establishing himself as one of the industry’s premier producers and most sought after orchestrators.
“This is an exciting time for Wayne and me.” Ward states. “We’ve been talking about creating our own record company for years but have been waiting on the right team to come together for what we do. For me, signing this agreement with Crossroads not only fills in some of the pieces Wayne and I were missing, but it is like coming home to family. They’re great people and I really enjoy working with them again. I got my first experience as an engineer with Chris White when he was engineering some of the early releases on his Sonlite label. Mickey Gamble was the first person to sit down with me and explain how a record contract works and my personal style in the studio was largely influenced by working with Jeff Collins who is like a brother to me. When it’s God’s timing, all the pieces fall into place and everything just fits. Crossroads is great at getting product into the marketplace and our distribution agreement with them lends us their talents and expertise in this area.” Ward concludes.
Crossroads executive Mickey Gamble comments, “We are very excited about our agreement with Haun and Ward Entertainment and the artists they represent. Kevin and Wayne are both gifted; they’re focusing on their areas of strength by leaving other work to us. In this way they are free to concentrate on what they do best…writing, arranging, producing and recording great music. We look forward to adding their diverse productions to our catalog. We have also recently expanded our radio department which gives us the ability to service the radio promotion needs of their artists as well as those of our current artist roster.”
Crossroads is a top producer in SG radio and has amazingly garnered the No. 1 position in the national southern gospel charts 32 times over the past six years. That equates to having the No.1 spot almost every other month during the six year span.
The first offering of this new alliance is the upcoming project ‘Flyin’ High’ from the Dove award-winning group, the Lewis Family. ‘Flyin’ High’ will be available at your local Christian retailer on July 18th 2006. Be sure to listen for the first single ‘My Cross’ on the Crossroads July Radio Airplay Sampler. More recordings are currently underway at Haun and Ward Entertainment from artists like the Cumberland Quartet and black gospel soloist Calvin Hunt.

Urgent Prayer Request from Mercy’s Well
Hello friends, we were just sent this extremely urgent prayer request from Mercy's Well. Please keep Kyle in your prayers this week!
-----------------------
Hey guys,
I want you to stop what you are doing this morning and say a quick prayer for Kyle. Not to go into a whole lot of details right now, but he needs your prayers. Kyle and I got back to my house last night about 12:40am from singing yesterday. He slept most of the way from Greensboro to Lancaster. So from My house to his is about 1 hr 15 min. Country roads all the way. Well, He always calls Brad after he gets home. I was passing out because I had to work today. Well at 4 am this morning I get a call from Kyles mother, informing me that 15 min from home, SUMTER, Kyle blew a tire. Once he was stopped and had called his mom to bring a jack, he was ambushed by a robber who was waiting. The Robber had laced the road with metal Spikes causing a blow out for a passerby. With a gun stuck in Kyles face, the robber took everything he had! Kyle ran through the woods for help, messing up his legs and feet! Please pray that God would comfort him, today Number ONE! Pray that Kyle get some rest. Pray that the investigators will find prints on kyles truck, and finally pray that they will catch this crazy man! No one should ever have to go through a tramatic experience such as this, much less Kyle! We love him and pray for his emotional and physical healing.
Lift him up today in pray if you can, and pray that this robber is caught.
Love yall,
Greg Gainer

Jonathan White’s Testimony Included in New Alvin Slaughter Book

In the new book, entitled I Got It Back, Slaughter reveals six keys to becoming the empowered person God wants every individual to be. The book helps individuals find his or her passion, helps people get "unstuck," and helps them know God's next level of power and direction for their lives.

The Oak Ridge Boys Tape Segment for “The Tonight Show”

BRENTWOOD, Tenn.-June 14, 2006--Spring Hill Music Group recording artists The Oak Ridge Boys were busy during this year's CMA Music Festival, an event on which the legendary and lauded group has performed for years out of appreciation to their fans nationwide.
The week included taping a guest segment for "The Tonight Show," which featured the group and the show's correspondent Niecy Nash. The segment, slated to air this evening (June 14th), is based on the group's upcoming single "Hard to Be Cool (in a Minivan)" and was filmed with Nash in a vintage Volkswagen model. The single is slated to hit radio this summer.
"The Oak Ridge Boys have debuted over 20 of our hits on 'The Tonight Show' over the years," recalls Oak Ridge Boy Duane Allen. "We felt right at home working with the show's crew and had a great time introducing 'Hard to Be Cool (in a Minivan)' there as well. This is a song audiences have been connecting with since we started performing it...."
The Oak Ridge Boys' new recording, Front Row Seats (Spring Hill Music), is scheduled to release this fall. The group debuted several songs found on the new release during their CMA Music Festival performances, including their crowd-pleasing concert on Friday at the Riverfront, downtown Nashville, which featured their band and the stage energy this group has long been noted for.
The Oak Ridge Boys also headlined the annual International Fan Club Organization (IFCO) concert, which was held at the Ryman, where the group left the audience on its feet following new songs "Closer to Home," "Heaven's a Small Town," "Hard to Be Cool" and "Did I Make a Difference" as well as an acappella rendition of "Amazing Grace" and hits "Bobbie Sue" and "Elvira."
Music Row's Robert Oermann described The Oak Ridge Boys' performance as "a revelation"...with "four new tunes" that were "the best things I've heard them sing in 20 years. Their pitch-perfect, four-part harmony proved that they have lost nothing vocally over these many years."
The group's manager of 31 years Jim Halsey, of The Jim Halsey Company, received the Tex Ritter Award from the IFCO. The award was presented by Loudilla Johnson, on behalf of the Johnson sisters, who founded and operate the fan club organization. Halsey received the award based on countless merits and his many contributions to the country music industry for so many years.
The Oak Ridge Boys are currently co-headlining a tour with longtime friend Kenny Rogers in addition to their own concert appearances, and they continue their ongoing work with relief organization Feed the Children as well as the National Anthem Project, an effort of the National Association for Music Education (MENC).
The Oak Ridge Boys' fall release, Front Row Seats, will be distributed by WEA with digital distribution by EMI CMG Distribution. For further information, visit http://www.oakridgeboys.com .

Update on Leo Ruppe
Urgent Prayer Request: Update on Leo Ruppe of The RuppesWe would like to thank all of you who have been praying for Dad since May 16th when we found out about his cancer.
After tests and consults with the doctors we have more information for you. The cancer is called oral Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Right now, the cancer is in his mouth and neck and thankfully has not spread anywhere else.
The treatments will include radiation and chemotherapy. The radiation treatments will be 5 days a week for eight weeks. The chemo treatments will be every three weeks for 8 hours at a time. The drug is so powerful it has to be done intravenously and very slowly. Just getting him ready for the treatments is an ordeal in itself. He's had extensive dental work done already. This week, he has to have outpatient surgery to put in a central line for the chemo and a feeding tube put into his stomach to be ready for the days ahead for nourishment. Keeping him hydrated and nourished is very important.
The treatments are scheduled to begin on June 19th. As most of you know, these treatments are very difficult to withstand and have terrible side effects, like nausea, hair loss, low blood counts, etc. Others are hearing loss and permanent damage to the saliva glands.
We believe in praying, specifically, for the needs at hand. Please pray with us for Dad’s treatments to work even better and faster than usual, that the side effects will be minimal, that any permanent damage to his hearing and saliva glands won’t happen, and that any other complications (like infections, low blood counts, etc.) won’t be a problem. We are still trusting God for healing and strength. Let’s all continue to pray together in the all-powerful name of Jesus.
We thank you for all the cards and emails he’s received and thank you in advance for continuing to pray for Dad. Also, pray for The Ruppes as we continue with our touring schedule. We are not canceling any dates at this time and with God’s help we won’t have to. We are praying and trusting God to meet our financial needs as well. For the next few months, management and scheduling will be handled by Heather Day of The Ruppes.
For booking and all other inquiries call 864-801-4574 or email .
We will post updates periodically in the days ahead.

Special Prayer Request From the Ferrens
Special Prayer Request from the Ferrens:I am writing to request special prayer from you, the Ferrens, and the prayer warriors that I know you all have contact with.
On June 1, I began experiencing terrible throat pain and on the 3rd was taken to and admitted into the hospital here in Louisville, Kentucky. I was diagnosed with a severe case of Strep Throat. It is very slowly responding to the treatment. I was released from the hospital on June 10th and have been ordered to continue the prescribed treatment and have been given a "No-talking, No-singing" order by my doctors. As mine is a compleletely full time ministry this makes it very tough to follow doctors orders. But, in order to protect my health I am abiding by the doctors orders and doing a lot of praying.
I sincerely, request that you and the Ferrens do remember me in prayer. I know you all have been through some trying times in the past and God has always come through for you. My body is weak and my faith is being tried. I could use the support of prayer.
Thank you so much,
Terry Dorsey
