The Dunaways - Wilderness Wanderings - Jun 2003

Hey this is Lawayne, and I will be filling in this time for Tammy.

Things have really been going this last month, and when I say going, I mean it. We have been very busy as usual and I love it. I admit, sometimes things seem to be a little overwhelming but as with anything else we are just made stronger through our oppositions. Isn't it awesome how God does things?

My life has really changed in the past year or two. I had been searching for God's will in my life for quite a while. It actually started when I began college four years ago. I declared a major and then my world came crashing down. It seemed that nothing was going right. I faced one problem after the next and I just didn't know what I was going to do. I continually prayed about what God had for my life but it wasn't time for him to reveal it to me. I struggled with the decision of changing my major and prayed very hard until I felt like that's what I needed to do. So, I changed my major and then a ton of bricks was lifted off my chest. I wasn't sure what was going on at the time, but God has the time thing under control.

Once again, he's an awesome God! I continued blindly for about 4 years. Yes, 4 years! I know, that's a long time to not know what you're doing. Once I moved to Meridian, MS things began to roll into place. . I still didn't see the big picture and I still didn't know it yet, but it was then that the Lord started working overtime. He blessed and blessed and blessed and just when I thought it was over, he poured out a little more. Then it all fell right into place and almost blew my socks off. I could not believe the things that God had been doing all along over the past four years, I was just too stubborn to see it.

I would go into detail, but it would fill up the whole website and probably another one. So many times we think that God never hears our prayers, but he does. He hears every one and then he does even more than we asked. It sometimes seems like we are wandering in the wilderness, but through it all God has a plan for all of us. Trust me, I wandered for 4 years remember. But anyway, I better shut up. If there is one thing that I can say to everyone it is to trust in God, let him take care of things. Sometimes we don't think so, but he's got it under control.
